Report from Mammoth Mountain Ski Patrol: Almost no results from the Howitzer guns. Big results from hand charges and ski cuts across the upper mountain this morning. Many paths sliding at R1D1-R2D2 size with 8-10" crowns, some running longer that usual. Few large D3 sized avalanches in Climax and Monument. Crowns propagating in storm and wind slabs. Many results under cornices. Most things went on Dragon's Back and the Hemlocks. Lots of cornice formation across the ridges. Some results from ski cutting even on lower angle slopes. Things already getting wet and gloppy by 10am. Thanks to Robert Opper for the report and photos!
