Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Quick observation from yesterday and this morning in the Rock Creek drainage.  Yesterday we toured over Italy Pass to Lake Italy and then over Cox Col in Rock Creek drainage.  Snow on nearly all aspects above 11,600 ft remained firm. Only slight melt was noted on solar aspects yesterday between 11,600 and 11,200 feet.

Dropping in Rock Creek was firm until 11,200 feet.

Waking up this morning at 10,500 ft in Rock Creek there was 4-5 inches of new, light density snow.  No wind during the night but with high winds forecasted, there could be significant wind loading and poor bonding between new snow and hard, melt freeze layer in the next couple of days.
