Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Toured Piute Pass->Alpine Col->Lamarck Col over past 4 days. Several larger (D2-2.5 storm slabs) avalanches in Goethe Lakes Cirque, as well as North Face of Darwin- 4-6' crowns. 

Snow conditions west of the Crest were mostly wind packed dense powder, with southerly aspects getting a crust by 04/10. 

New snow amounts totaled 2-4" at 11500' with fresh windslabs forming on SE slopes leading up to Lamarck Col with strong and sustained winds. 

Dropping down from the Col was a range of breakable crust, sastrugi-like snow, and below 10500' moist to wet snow down to 30cm, and without a hard refreeze on 04/12, was already showing signs of wet instability by 1030.
