More detailed information about the snowpack: 

 

-toured from rock creek near iris meadow (~8400')up and down easterly facing gullies (~11,400'). 

NE facing slopes transitional, NNE facing upper elevation still Wintery, ENE to E to ESE micro-corn at mid to upper elevations.  Very Small wet slides from ski turns in steep terrain below 10,000' E facing after noon, that could capture skis and make it hard to move out of.   No natural activity seen today.   East facing gully on McGee had decent sized wet slide debris, un-sure from when but guessing sometime in last few days? (See attached photo).

Point observations from tour:

-8600' E 10:45: boot pen 10cm ski pen 2cm.  Moist to grnd. 

-ENE 23deg slope, 11:15, 9500':  1/2cm ski pen, 2-3cm boot pen. Moderate gusts.  Thin high clouds.  

-Just north of NE, 35deg, 10,300', 11:45, 4cm moist ontop of 2cm knifr- wind crust ontop of 1F cold dry snow.  

-NNE facing, 37deg, 12:00, 10,800': top 1/4cm barely moist over cold dry snow.  Lower thicker clouds moving in light wind.  Just east of NE melt freeze grains slightly moist down atleast 1+ft.  

-ENE facing 36deg, 12:10, 11,000': 8cm loose melt freeze grains moist ontop of 2cm still slightly frozen melt freeze crust ontop of loose melt freeze moist grains.  E facing : 2-3cm moist loose ontop of thick hard melt freeze layer.  

-NE, 40deg, 12:25, skinning becoming tenuous, switch to booting.  Boot pen=5-10cm.  

-11,400', 12:40, moderate ridgetop breeze with gusts up to ~35mph. Mostly cloudy.  Air temp=4deg C / 39deg F.  See attached photo.  

-9,700', E, 28deg, 1pm- micro corn 1-2mm grains. Slightly sticky. 

-9000' NE, 35deg, 1:10pm : boot top boot pen, 8cm ski pen.  

-8250', flat, 1:30pm : 1-2cm ski pen, 6-7cm boot pen. Partly cloudy/sunny calm.  Warm!

Day started with high thin clouds, warm temps, and early afternoon lower clouds moved in to become mostly cloudy.  Light winds with moderate gusts up to ~35mph over ridgetop at 11,400' at 1pm.  No snow transport seen anywhere.
