More detailed information about the snowpack:

Great day of touring on Northish aspect of University Peak.  Left from parking area around 6:00am.  Skis on next to campground, which was still closed.  This snow will be gone by next weekend, but the approach above should still be navigable.  Continued at a scenic pace about to about 12k', had lunch and turned for home.  Ski pen on the way up was about 10-20cm.  Ski crampons were not required.  Snow was continually failing in the skin track.  Ski descent was fun despite small sun cups.  Uper layer of snow is saturated and slow moving wet slides/ski turn released are prevelant.  Watching my partner make turns was more like watching someone water ski vice snow ski.  Still another amazing day in the Sierra.  Not bad for June:-)
