Daytime Seminars:
We will be offering three separate FREE daytime seminars this year, in two different sessions, meaning you can take two of the three clinics. Clinics will be based out of the Mountainside Conference Center on the 3rd floor of the Main Lodge at MMSA. Clinics begin at 12:30pm and run through 4pm in two 1.5hr sessions with a 30 minute break in between.
Consider pre-registering for the clinics online to secure your spot. On-site registration for the clinics begins at 11:30am.
Clinics are as follows:
- Companion Rescue : Taught by Sierra Mountain Guides, this clinic will focus on techniques and strategies for dealing with an emergency rescue scenario, after the beacon search is complete.
- Avalanche Transciever Fundamentals : Taught by Carl Pelletier of Liberty Mountain/Pieps, this clinic will focus on the differences in avalanche transcievers in terms of technology and models, how they work, and how best to use them in searching for a victim.
- Understanding Weather & Snowpack (Past and Current Season) : Taught by Sue Burak of ESAC, this clinic will focus on understanding mountain weather processes as they related to the Eastside and the patterns we see, the impact that weather has on the snow/snowpack, and how this has impacted past and the current season.
