Solitude Canyon

I had a chance to venture into Solitude Canyon yesterday - was able to get up the old mining road with the sled, but didn't venture much beyond that as it was pretty shallow in most places.
I skinned to the top of the West Ridge with the intention of skiing one of the north facing tree shots there, but ended up doing a lot of traversing and hitting of rocks and logs.
100cm hasty pit on a north facing slope at 9,500' had about 40cm of large, well developed facets at it's bottom, with a small ice lens in its midst.
Skiing was great (where there was snow), but we need a lot more of it.
