Comments:

this is the second drainage south of tuttle creek whose long north-facing couloir is visible southbound on 395 between independence and lone pine.

superb skiing, perfect corn, very stable snowpack low. observed evidence of recent wet slide high in main chute which did not propagate lower. lower portion of this very long couloir is 22 degrees, gradually steepening as you go up. estimated slope at slide about 45 degrees, stopping at around 35-40 .

began skiing at around 30 degrees off west-facing side chute. some softening on eastern edge of main couloir late afternoon--ski cut produced rollers but no sliding.

although north-facing, this couloir is so long that it receives sun for much of the day, yielding excellent spring conditions.
