New Beacon Basins are on their way!

We've ordered two new Ortovox STS beacon training facilities for this season, as the old BCA versions were pretty worn, tired, and falling apart.

ESAC has a Measure R funding request pending with the Town of Mammoth Lakes to fund these two sites, which we should know about by the middle of December. In anticipation of our Season Kickoff, and needing to get something in the snow up at MMSA sooner than later, however, we ordered one ahead of funding approval. As such, we should hopefully have that one on hand in time for the Kickoff and be able to present and train folks on its functionality at that event. Afterward, it will get installed up at the Gus' Pasture/Main Lodge site.

The second site will remain at the Forest Service Visitor Center / Welcome Center location where it has been in previous years. We hope to get that installed around early next year once it arrives and there is snow on the ground.
