Your financial support of ESAC helps us grow...

The Eastern Sierra Avalanche Center is part of the Inyo National Forest and is staffed by a Forest Service avalanche forecaster. In order to fund this position, a 'Friends of' organization exists as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose sole job is to fund raise and garner community involvement and support in the Center. This is a symbiotic relationship that is ultimately intended to create valuable products and deliver quality information to users like yourself with the hope of keeping you safe while in the winter backcountry.

All money that we raise goes directly toward the operations of the Center, or is used to produce public events . The forecaster position costs roughly $40,000 annually. With the Forest Service covering roughly three-quarters of this cost each year, we rely heavily on the support of the community at large to help us find the money for the rest.

You can support the center in a variety of ways, ranging from individual or business support, to purchasing merchandise. Please help keep us going by joining our membership today, or talking to us about other support opportunities.
