I observed this surface hoar in town yesterday (11/10) on a thinly treed north facing slope. I assumed it would get destroyed by the day time sun but I noticed that it persisted into today (11/11). If it is also up in the hills and survives until tomorrow night, it could get buried by the forecasted small storm. Maybe the pre-front winds tomorrow will take care of it. Something for anyone making observations before now and then to be on the lookout for.
