Epic conditions continue at South Fork, with about two feet of new snow on the road since it was last plowed on Sat 1/7. Temps have dropped a bit; the wind has been blowing off an on, but much less severe than on Monday. Total snow depth varies with wind accumulation; I measured 175 cm in several places and 245 cm at one of the bigger drifts. Skis sink in 25-40 cm, and snowshoes even more. Staying very safe up here because I'm not even able to ski in this!
Neighbor reports that he could spot about 10 small slides on the side of Table Mountain, only one of which reached the road on Sunday. We don't expect South Lake Road to get cleared very soon.
