Toured up to Mammoth Rock today. Found variable conditions of surface snow ranging from nice powder to wind board to breakable crust.
Started just below freezing but it dropped to -5°C at 1430 in the shade.
Conducted a CT on a WNW aspect at 9,022ft. HS was 320. Results were CT17 SP, down 22cm. Results were at a F hardness interface of small near surface facets sitting on a 4F harness layer.
Light winds throughout the day from the SW and bluebird skies made for a nice day out in the field.
Seemed like there were lots of folks out there having fun.
Poop chute looked particularly wind boardy from our recent N winds
No avalanches or instabilities observed.
