I observed an odd scenario today where the peaks to the south of Mammoth Mtn had significant flagging toward the west southwest, while the peaks to the north of Mammoth Mtn had significant flagging to the southeast. Basically, the peaks to the south of Mammoth were flagging to the right while the peaks to the north of Mammoth were flagging to the left. Kinda cool to see, and clearly demonstrated the variable (and strong) wind directions in the alpine right now.
