At 8300ft near Aspendell: Moderate to strong southerly winds coming down canyon with moderate blowing snow at all elevations. Mostly OVC (BRK) with mostly S1 snow. HS around 188cm, and NS 15-25cm on leeward terrain, around 10cm on windward terrain. Dug on NW-NE aspects to inspect buried facets and found a sandwich of 1F/F/P just underneath the fresh precip from last night and today. The 1F/F interface sheared easily during hand shear and tilt tests. Curious to see how this buried weak layer behaves in the coming days, though there wasn't as much new precip down in this region as there was farther north.
