On a classic Sierra windy day, we decided to grit our teeth and tour up McGee Creek to Wineglass Couloir. We faced high E winds with gusts blowing ice chips in our face on the approach and the wind switched directions throughout the day. Near the top of the glass, winds were predominately SE and gusts were up to 50 mph with snow devils circling around the glass. The 32-35 degree angle ski down was worth it. The top was a mix of hard pack and wind buff with some wind crust spots to avoid. The winds had blown snow down halfway into the Couloir so soft turns were found during the second half of the ski down. There was evidence of multiple avalanche paths from the last storm cycle.

High winds pushed dry loose sluff from the looker's right gully into the Wineglass Couloir midway up the stem as we passed. It was relatively harmless and we could easily pass through it, but definitely a noticeable avalanche path.Signs of Unstable Snow
