Toured to the top of Chicken Wing today. I stuck to mostly low angle slopes and observed basically no signs of instability. I did, however, see a pretty interesting creep crack at the top on a due north aspect. It is in sparsely spaced trees. I recall coming across large creep cracks near wind loaded ridge lines in 2017, and I suspect we will be seeing them again this year, if today is any indication.

While the top had been wind loaded and sculpted from both southerly and northerly directions, I observed no signs of instability up there, other than a few small dinner plates that sheared off, mostly related to the sastrugi.

From the summit, the only avalanche debris that I could pick out was on the east side of Mt. Wood. Otherwise, I didn't see any signs of slides.

Watch out for the tree wells and tree bomb craters!
