Zone or Region:
McGee Creek
Activity:
Snowmobiling/Snowbiking
Location:
Persistent slab N of Half Pipe
Numerous avalanches on McGee on N, NE and E aspects. Up to size D2.55. One near Half Pipe was particularly interesting as it looked as though it stepped down into the persistent weak layer. Debris was quite fresh so I believe it happened today.
Snow was quite wet while snowmobiling around the meadows below McGee. Lots of debris from all of the prominent ski descents. Saw many wet loose avalanches even on small terrain. Runnels were observable in some terrain as well.
Did you observe any avalanches?
