Map location shows the avalanche in North couloir wheeler crest, there was another large one further up the couloir. The large avalanches photographed above sky meadow ranch are the 3rd large avalanches I have seen in these couloirs this year. Pretty much all the couloirs visible from Swall had small to large avalanches during the last storm. It looked like most of these started only midway up the crest. Turned around at 9200 feet and did not see any signs of instability in snowpack except for small slabs (2") occasionally breaking off.
