Observations

Toured from 6400 to 11800 between approx 0900-1600. Refreeze was better than expected at the start of day. By the ski down the wet snow surface below 9500'ish was getting deep and grabby. Dug one pit and found a hard slab, about 50cm in depth and CTH. Beautiful day, thin overcast and light breeze.

This layer consistently went on CT25-30 on what appears to be a very thin layer of buried surface hoar. I skied this feature with no movement. Of note, on the same slope on skiers right the slab changed. I did not dig but could feel it in the skin track. I avoided skiers left.
This is about a one month old crown on the southeast face of Gould. Maybe a D3 but pretty amazing.
