Toured up to the south knob on Chicken Wing, known now and forever after as the Chicken Nugget. It was a warm and beautiful day out there, with an air temp measured at 9500' at 40.3 deg. F.
Despite the warmer temps and brighter sun, E aspects were not getting as wet as one might imagine. Anything kicked slightly S had moist or wet surface grains but had not refrozen yet by 1245. NE and N aspects had good ski conditions with near surface facets being the predominant surface grain in the shaded terrain.
None of the pre 12/13 facets where found (at least where I looked) which may be expected given the elevation and aspect of the feature.
