Toured out of Sabrina and along the lake until we headed into the northernly trees feeding into the basin. We had heard rumors of more snow, and possibly there was but due to the heavy SW mixed winds from yesterday the more exposed terrain was still very thin. We gained around 2,500 ft elevation and dug a pit. Snow Measured between 165-175 cm of depth. Very solid base layer from these last two storms with no signs of facited snow at least at our highest elevation around 10,500. Snow was wind affected with pockets of powder between trees but mostly wind slab. Seems to be a great base forming in the Bishop area if we continue to get some consistent storms. It also seems that the late October storm was mostly melted out in our area before these last two big ones, hard to say what it's like above 11,000 ft as old snow might still reside so travel cautiously at higher elevations.
