Gambled on the wind-forecast today, with bets that it might not blow as much as the forecast predicted.  Lost that bet, as upslope winds kept the east facing terrain in Pinner Couloir on Laural Mtn. cool and chattery as we decended at 10:30 am (prob the time with best potential for softened snow before refreezing) from the top at 11600'.  Despite a relatively warm air temp of 0°C at this time, the up-slope breeze, and moderate W wind at the ridgetop kept loose-wet potential non-existent.  SE facing sidewalls did get moist with deeper ski penetration, but nothing concerning. Yesterday afternoon's increase in winds did seem to deposit firm patches of cold smooth snow sporadically up and down the couloir.  Most of these were relatively thin, but in some areas were up to a foot deep.  They all were well-bonded where we travelled.
