Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Quick run above Onion Valley road - Test pit at 7800 ft, 30-35 degree slope; 140 CM total depth; on NE facing slope with tree protection

Top 20 CM fist hard new snow

5 cm crust 1F/Pencil

25-65 4F to 1 F consolidated snow

Didn't dig deeper -

No compression test failure or shear failure in top 65CM;

Decent coverage - some trees and big shrubs stickout, some hollow patches near buried bushes - decent skiing on new snow up high; a little crusty, punchy and somewhat wind affected below 6800 feet.

Evidence of mid-storm avalanches from last weekend all along the eastside (Birch, KId, Spook, etc.)
