Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

I held out to the afternoon to see if it would start snowing and it didn’t. The crest was beginning to be enveloped by late afternoon, but I did not observe any snow falling by 4pm in the June Lake area. Massive melting of the snowpack and settlement was observed in the Obsidian trailhead area. I toured to another north facing slope that had less traffic than chicken wing proper. I reached 9500ft and found a good 10-15cm of softer surface snow on due North aspects in the trees. Near surface faceting over the course of many clear nights has improved the skiing. 130cm was the average snow depth at 9500ft on northerly aspects with decreasing snow height lower down at the 8500 level ~45cm.  Wind loaded areas adjacent to ridgeline, but within trees exhibited no signs of being unstable where I travelled today.

It was 32degF @ 330pm @ 9500ft. light east wind
