Huge crowns resulting from explosive control measures on Mammoth Mountain this morning, see attached photos.  Over 12' tall crowns!  One small hand charge resulted in half of the upper mountain releasing (all of the drop outs and wipe outs through the hump).  Of note, some of these slopes had been shot with heavy artilery (40lb warheads) and didn't fail.  A 2lb handcharge in the sweet spot is what caused the entire release.  Stepped down to late november raincrust.  Also 4-6ft crowns in the chair 9 area.
