Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

-Toured up from end of Old Mammoth Rd up past Mammoth Rock to top of Mammoth Rock Bowl and back down.

-Light rain up to 8500', changing to freezing rain and then snow above 8800'.  Calm winds except for moderate gusts over ridgetop from south.

-Moist snowpack to ground up to 9000'.  Above 9000' only top 5-10cm moist.

-TONS of widespread lil' natural rollerballs on all aspects above 9000' (nothing larger than a softball), and easy pin wheels from ski turns below 9000' (nothing larger than a soccer ball).  See attached photos.

-Dug pits around 8900', N aspect, see attached profile.  CT tests consistently failed cleanly on deep facets 90cm deep with hard force.  ECT tests did not fail.  Facets were still quite distinct and large - 3mm, but moist.

*fun turns in the soft moist supportable snow.
