AIARE Level 1 course today near Mammoth Rock.

1100- Moderate W winds transporting snow across the face of the Sherwins; consistent saltation throughout mid-day at and below the ridge. Many wind affected snow surfaces. No whumphing or shooting cracks. Localized cracking on some particularly cross-loaded rollovers; cracks about 5cm deep and <1m.

1200- Series of test profiles at the old Log Cabin Mine site across the road from Mill City, W of Mammoth Rock. (See attached profile) Inconclusive test results: One profile had several CTM SP Results while neighboring pits had only RP or N results. ECT did not fracture or propagate.
