Headed to the Red Cone area this morning to check out the new snow.
* Sheltered areas were holding up to ~18" of new unconsolidated snow.
* I was able to initiate sluffing on steeper rollovers (see photo) but minimal/no cracking or slab propagation.
* Surface snow on more east-facing aspects was beginning to warm around 9am.
* I was not expecting late October and late April to bring the nicest powder this season but will certainly take it.
