Toured from mill city to ski the new snow from yesterday’s storm and practice pit profiles before an upcoming course. We found challenging skinning conditions in spots due to dust on crust conditions. Bitterly cold temperatures on the ridge. We dug a pit on a NE aspect at 9,150’ and found a 3 meter deep, mostly right side up snowpack. Boot pen was 40cm. TAir was -10c with light winds. New snow was 10 cm of light and fluffy. Excellent skiing conditions with minor sluffing in steeper terrain.
