Went up early to the Convict area to retrieve my lost skin from yesterday. Temp at the TH at 7:30 was -2 deg F. Climbed only to just below the top of the Tobacco Flats moraine around 8100' and found my skin. Winds had clearly hit the moraine yesterday afternoon/last night. Many parts of yesterday's skin track were filled in and there were new hard wind deposits. Skiing down, I cut loose some 2-in thick wind slabs that shot cracks out a few feet from my skis. Up higher, the slabs are probably larger and touchy today.
