Explored southerly aspects BTL today. Around 7800ft there was 3 feet of new snow with several obvious rain layers. Identified a PWL down 90cm, but water content from this recent storm snow had percolated down through that layer, moistening and hardening it to 1F/P. No crusts in between, but the top 3cm of the PWL was still weak and faceted, although tests yielded no results indicating instability. No cracking, whumphing or slab release during our tests. Mostly toured in sheltered terrain.
Temps remained around freezing, with S1 precip (SN(GR)) increasing to S3 SN in the pm accompanied with SW moderate winds.
