Excellent heavy powder above 9200', some crust on sun exposed aspects and close to the ridge (wind). Winds were light in the forest, but enough to blow some snow over my own tracks within a couple of hours (went up twice). Most terrain was low inclination, but tested cautiously one open convex patch at about 35 deg, East aspect, 9700', some parts were hard crust that didn't break, some parts were soft, boot deep: nothing gave. In general, it felt good and stable. Even small rollers from a top foot of fluff didn't result in anything of note. Most tree wells are mostly filled, but some show large cracks on the upslope side. Remained at treeline (~10,000) so I have no obs of the top ridge of Red Cone. As reported by many, several very large cornices are visible pretty much all along the Mammoth Crest.
