Skiied the Sawtooth Range traverse 4/21 to 4/22 from Little Slide Canyon up and over Eocene peak, below Blacksmith Peak finishing at Matterhorn peak. Stayed mostly above 10k feet .
Good re-freeze overnights for high elevation travel over 10k. Easy booting conditions. Very fast temperature changes during the day. By mid-day, E to SE slopes were getting very, very wet with increasing sinking during travel. We avoided very steep SE slopes to be cautious for wet slides.
Encountered numerous wet loose point release avalanches on E and SE slopes. Most slides were small in size, but occurring on steep slopes which would easily knock someone down.
